I've seen some really evil people walk the face of this Earth.
People who go out of their way to ruin your day. People who derive great personal joy by seeing others suffer. People who feel 10-feet tall by making you feel small.
I'm not sure what motivates them. Envy? Hatred? Insecurity? Or maybe they're just plain EVIL... Whatever it is, I find it incredibly annoying... and if it wasn't against the law and if it wasn't a sin, I'd be out there killing 'em all.
I'm sure we've all had encounters with such creatures.
The kid who'd wait patiently for you to build lego towers and then calmly knocks them down.
The teacher who gives you a B+ for your essay instead of the A you know you deserve, just because you "didn't underline your name".
The classmate who lets you do all the work for your shared project and then takes all the credit.
The simperingly sweet & supportive 'best friend' who tells you that she's watching out for you and then proceeds to sweetly stab you in the back.
The colleague who fawns all over you, asks to be on your team and then happily claims your work as his own while bitching about you to your boss.
The uptight boss who suffers from Permanent PMS.
Quite simply, there are numerous examples of those who belong to the Little People Club.
Like the driver who refuses to move from the right lane (despite driving like a retarded snail) and then when you overtake him from the left, he proceeds to tailgate you with flashing lights.
Like the man who pretends to be asleep on the LRT when he sees a pregnant woman standing in front of him.
Like the salesman who grins with his pearly-white teeth when he's selling you something, and then flashes his fangs when you try to return the useless thing.
Like the customer who shouts abuses at the people who serve him and uses swear-words to see them wince.
But Little People of the worst kind are those that you personally know... the ones you let into your life.
You excitedly share the good news that you've gotten a promotion and a raise - They look blankly at you, asks how much the raise is and sneer "That's not much of a raise... Nak beli pisang pun tak cukup" (Not enough to even buy bananas)
You share intimate, personal details with your childhood friend and find out later that she's blabbed to everyone about it (and added spicy details of her own).
You get a call from a woman who asks you out for dinner and your buddy turns around to tell you that "Well, she's obviously into your money."
You just got married and your friend sows seeds of suspicion by telling you that your wife is spending so much time with her boss behind closed doors
(((drip drip drip of innuendo)))
You tell your friend about your aspirations and ambition and he laughs at your face, ridiculing your efforts and making you feel like a total loser.
These are the kind of people we just don't need in our life.
They feel so little that they need to demean others to feel big.
They get a certain high when they see us react to their poisonous crap.
They're not happy-people themselves but they try to drag us down into their own sick dungeon of depression.
They are Little People to be pitied and avoided.
Life's too short to share with people who make you feel bad.
When you surround yourself with positive people who love and support you, you create a healthy, nourishing place...If you find yourself surrounded by toxic people, you can find your energy drained and your momentum brought to a grinding halt. Dealing with Toxic People
