This is a conversation between two adult professionals.

Some may find this conversation amusing...
Some may find themselves shaking their heads in disappointment....

Echoing the all makciks of the country -
"Ya Rabbi... Anak dara tak reti masak? tsk tsk tskk... Apa nak jadi dengan dunia sekarang ni yer...?"
["Dear God... Young maidens who can't cook? tsk tsk tskk... What's gonna happen to the world we live in...?"]

Whoso neglects learning in his youth,
Loses the past and is dead for the future.
Euripides (484 BC - 406 BC)

Echoing the many independent young ladies in this country -
"Alaa.... Dia kerja, kita pun kerja... Dua2 tau masak...Kongsi2 la... Hari ni, dia.. Esok, saya... Senang2, kita makan kat luar... Kedai mamak kan banyakkk..."
["*sigh*.... He works, I work too... Both of us can cook... Share and share alike... Today, he cooks... Tomorrow, I cook... Easiest solution, we eat out... Mamak shops are plenty..."]

If women are expected to do the same work as men, we must teach them the same things. Plato (427 BC - 347 BC)

To me, I believe that a woman should know how to cook... I mean, if we harp on the fact that men can cook too, they'll eventually wise up and tell us that we should then change tires, fix lights, unclog toilets etc...
(Not that I CAN'T do those... I just don't like too..hehehe)

Every human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.
Excerpt from the notebooks of Lazarus Long, from Robert Heinlein's "Time Enough for Love"

Disclaimer:
Let it be known that Nadia and I indeed CAN cook.
Wan has paid me countless compliments on my cooking (as rare as it happens...)
Justin (Nad's husband) had once described her salmon-sandwich as heavenly and delicious.
(Those of you who want to argue that making a sandwich does not constitute cooking, I suggest you speak to Nadia at your own peril).
